Most roadkill pieces were made early on. Collection missions were a fun way to spend crisp autumn afternoons with friends, and something of karmic worth was being done by resurrecting an otherwise-wasted mortal coil as a piece of art that could be appreciated indefinitely. Hence, the origin of "Resurrection Arts".
The influence for most of my pieces can be attributed to a polarized upbringing.
Hailing from the back woods of Transylvania, my paternal grandparents were Holocaust survivors. Their legacy granted me a humble appreciation for an object's longevity, and sense of value in re-purposing the cast-offs of others. On the maternal side, I come from a line of prosperous entrepreneurs who endowed me with the moxie to make my own way as well as a fondness for "the finer things".
The consummation? A feisty, dumpster diving closet-JAP with a flair for turning junk into jewels.
Every now and then I dabble in other crafty stuff .
If Shel Silverstein and Auntie Mame had a daughter and sent her off to be raised by Oscar the Grouch, you'd have someone eerily like me.
I'm an adventurous scavenger with a fondness for all things crafty, and a need to leave people and places just a little better than the state I found them in. I've been making and selling jewelry for ten years, and my signature roadkill pieces can be found in private collections around the world.
Resurrection Arts is my full time love and part time job. By day I freelance as a consultant, helping artists channel their talents into a source of income.
My up-and-coming project is called The Condiment Smuggler's Cookbook, which provides packet hoarders of all calibers with delicious (if not entertaining) recipes that beat the hell out of ketchup soup.
